Wendy C. Barton

Power

A loud painful scream
arises from the darkness
a man it seems
crawling, toward brightness

Urging for my help
I, feeling sinister
unbuckle my belt
making him Listener

Leather 'round his neck
sudden joy conquers me
I refuse to speak
as he falls to his knees

Mine for the taking
I do what I damn please
mine for the breaking
this is all, just a tease
