Bill Piccolo

waiting

I looked for you in her deep blue eyes

I saw you in his crooked smile

You hid in the night market

And there I found you

in our temple the Brahma stirs

            and as the world sleeps

            he waits for the morning

You did not see me underneath you

You never woke in this rain

I climbed the water tower at dawn

And there I found you

            in the still night

in the darkness of our temple

            I bathe your feet

            and wait for the morning
