Rolph David

Master of Doing Nothing

I’m not lazy, let’s be clear,
I’m highly motivated… to simply sit here.
To‑do lists wait, I pass them by,
Not out of spite — I just let them lie.

I sit and think, or think and sit,
No need for hustle, no need to flit.
Emails unread, calls left ignored,
Why rush ahead when peace is stored?

I’m not avoiding work in fear,
I simply choose a slower gear.
Why chase the world, why overdo,
When doing less is just as true?

So call it rest, or call it art,
A careful science, a mindful part.
I’m not unmotivated, no —
I’m focused on a slower flow.
