Social media = sweet poison

Like sweet poison
the synthetic images
of other people's lives
trickle slowly
deep into my consciousness
take my true longings
as an entrance into my soul
awaken insatiable needs
raise my expectations
to unattainable heights
make me envious
tempt me with brief feelings of happiness
through brief flashes of affection
followed by dissatisfaction
because I feel separated
from what was implanted in me
to be dependent forever
Wie süßes Gift
träufeln sich langsam
die synthetischen Bilder
von dem Leben anderer
tief in mein Bewusstsein
nehmen meine wahren Sehnsüchte
als Eingang in meine Seele
wecken unstillbare Bedürfnisse
heben meine Erwartungen
in unerreichbare Höhen
lassen mich neidisch werden
locken mit kurzen Glücksgefühlen
durch kurz aufblitzende Zuwendung
gefolgt von der Unzufriedenheit
weil ich mich getrennt fühle
von dem, was mir eingepflanzt wurde
um für immer abhängig zu sein
.
