Rise Above!

Inspired by Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off!", this sonnet hopefully encourages those feeling dejected or bullied to find their inner strength. It serves as a reminder that the actions of haters and heartbreakers cannot diminish your joy and resolve. Stand firm, knowing their efforts are futile!

They chatter on, their words a hollow din,
Yet strength within me rises, pure and clear,
For every lie, each taunt they try to spin,
I stand my ground, their efforts disappear.

They think they know my path, my every stride,
But little do they see my will's strong fire,
I move with rhythm, stride with steady pride,
Their slander, but a murmur, soon will tire.

For every heart they break, each truth they fake,
They build a wall they cannot see beyond,
Their hate, a storm, I'll let their fury break,
For in my heart there is a steadfast, joyous bond.

So, to the weary souls who bear their spite,
Remember, they can never dim your light!
