Sonja Nic Rafferty

Reflection - Brother and Sister

On the other shore of the ocean
A face is reflecting
I know this expression
Those lonely features
Of painful sadness
I know this rebellion
Against the unfair judgement
That withholds the daughter from the father
The father not to be permitted to the daughter
We are branches of a tree
Which has been violently uprooted
