Rolph David

An Undeserved Social Ennoblement

When dirt transforms to crap, it seeks a ride,
A tale of upward mobility and pride.
From humble roots to heights, it claims its seat,
No longer treads, in grandeur's lap, complete.

An upstart, once in shadows, now in light,
Demands a chariot for every flight.
From lowly to a place of high esteem,
In carriages of wealth, he'll live the dream.

He claims a right, for social rank he's gained,
To be chauffeured, his ego unconstrained.
No longer walks the path he used to tread,
In privilege, he rests his haughty head.

But heed this wisdom as a solemn plea,
That rank alone won't grant true liberty.
For still, in heart and mind, one must be driven,
To earn the heights, where true success is given.
