Consuming Thoughts

Sitting in the water
floating with the waves

I think of you

I look to the horizon
moving with the waves
thoughts and pictures
all that you’ve said

thinking of you

my thoughts are projected
in the water you are reflected

thinking of you

moving in and out of consciousness
I become motionless
one with the waves
the tide has come to take me

in my last consuming thought...

I, think of you

I wrote this when I was looking at a postcard that I bought from Santa Barbara, CA. The sun is going down, and there's waves and a pier. I just began to think what it would be like to be stranded there and what would my or someone else's last thoughts be. I would like to think that most people think about the ones that they love in their last thoughts.Authors comment
