Bessie Celeste

Wrinkles

These wrinkles around my eyes will tell you the stories when my mouth won't speak.
The story of living and birth.
How soft skin turned into leather.
Your touch turned to thorns and thunder weather.
The story of how we laughed one-thousand times, but I cried out ten thousand nights.
The story of hard work and sacrifice while longing for a better life.
How we chased butterflies but never kissed them.
The story of roller coaster rides and tumbling into the dark, watching the stars fade before our eyes.
The story of how I lived with all my heart.
