The Dream of an Empire

There was once a dream called Rome.
But one could only whisper it.
And then it was destroyed.
Corrupted.
Stone by stone.
Bit by bit.

Tell me, Commander, about your home,
And your garden that scents of herbs,
The poplar, deer, jasmine, and birds.
Your beautiful wife,
With her ivory breasts,
And the silken pillow,
Upon which she lays her head to rest.

There was once a dream called Rome.
And, only you can realize it.
This was once my dream, my home.
And, only I can realize it.
