Cuando padre llegó



 

  
… cuando a media tarde llegó padre y se acostó,
todos supimos que la noche y la muerte habían venido con él,
que habían impregnado el aire, las puertas, las paredes y los ojos con que miró y nos vio,
y que aquél silencio inmenso, sepulcral y eléctrico de repente instaurado,
no sería en realidad sino el mínimo cariz de un dolor voraz e impredecible aún;
… recuerdo azucenas y rosas abiertas,
un batir incesante de golondrinas sobre nidos del alfeizar al atardecer,
y aquel pasar y pasar de las horas, adentrándose y deambulando de acá para allá,
sin fin ni norte por el hall de la noche;
… y recuerdo, recuerdo que el ámbito de la casa se nos hizo al fin inédito y atroz,
y que también, y por completo, se convirtió en brutal e inhabitable.
