Ere Winter Comes

Before the world sinks into snow
and cold and dark
once more there’s a radiant glow,
a brilliant spark.
 
 
Before the trees turn almost bare,
 look weary – old - 
they’re covered with a cloth of glare
in red and gold.
 
 
Could I wrap in such robe of glee,
of fire and zest
I readily would cover me
